An Amelia man was arrested last night just after 7:47 p.m. in the 100 block of South Verret Road.  A St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s deputy was called to the home after a complaint was made.

The deputy who responded to the scene reports that he could hear two people yelling from outside of the home.  The deputy says he interviewed both people on the scene, and Victor Gaudet and his wife were arguing.  The situation escalated, and the allegations are that Gaudet committed a battery upon the victim.  Gaudet was charged with domestic violence and released on a twenty-five hundred dollar bond.
