The American Lung Association has chosen Townsquare Media's own John Clifford "JacCee" Falcon as this year's "Volunteer of the Year" for the Louisiana region.

Falcon works on KPEL's sister station 99.9 KTDY.

Falcon has worked on behalf of the American Lung Association to raise money and awareness about issues affecting the lungs for eight years.  He lost his mothers to asthma several years ago, and he was inspired to work for the American Lung Association.

Falcon started up the "Jeep Jaunt" an annual event where drivers raise money for the Lung Association for their education and research.  The event is held each year as hundreds of drivers of 4x4's join in a scenic trip down to Cypress Bayou Casino.

He was also instrumental in starting the Lafayette "Fight For Air Walk".  He along with his family helped to start the event and raise money.

Since the start of "Jeep Jaunt", Jaycee has helped to raise over $300,000 for the American Lung Association.

Development Director for the American Lung Association in New Orleans Aline Vitale says, "I truly don't think the word 'no' is in his vocabulary when it comes to his part in making the American Lung Association or Louisiana a better place. "He is so deserving of this award and is a living billboard that one person can make a huge difference in the American Lung Association and our world."
