The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's office says an Amite Police Officer is under arrest for allegedly kidnapping women and raping them.

"Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the arrest of 25 year old Grant P. Carruth of Husser, LA, on multiple charges kidnapping, sexual battery and rape," Spokeswoman Dawn Penepinto wrote in a news release.

"Over the past month, the TPSO has been investigating two separate cases involving the kidnapping and sexual assault of two female victims."

She says that in both cases the suspect allegedly identified himself as a narcotics officer.

"The suspect would then place them in handcuffs and tell them that they were being arrested. The victims were transported to undisclosed locations within Tangipahoa Parish where they were forced to performed sexual acts against their will. In both cases, the alleged suspect would then drive the victims to other locations where they were released and subsequently contacted the sheriff's office."
