Amite Woman Booked In Fatal Truck Stop Shooting
GREENSBURG, La. (AP) — An Amite woman accused of killing another woman with a shotgun blast at a St. Helena Parish truck stop has been booked with second-degree murder.
Chief of Detectives Joe Chaney tells The Advocate 42-year-old Stacey Self allegedly shot 25-year-old Jamilia Smith in the back of the head after Smith and Self's daughter got into an argument Tuesday night in the parking lot of Tall Timbers Truck Stop on La. Highway 16 in Pine Grove.
Chaney says Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was unclear whether Self has an attorney.
