GONZALES, La. (AP) — A LaPlace woman accused of a role in the attempted slaying of a pregnant woman and her unborn child has surrendered to authorities.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office says 27-year-old Tiffany Victor was booked Monday on counts of being an accessory after the fact to attempted first-degree feticide and accessory after the fact to attempted second-degree murder.

The Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/14WjRWM) Victor is the girlfriend of 27-year-old Cowan Collins, of Hammond, the man deputies say shot 25-year-old Kenyia Houston, of Gonzales, last week outside her home. She was eight months pregnant.

In a news release Monday, deputies did not explain the extent of Victor's alleged involvement in the shooting.
