ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Federal prosecutors are expected to call a fellow inmate to the stand in the capital murder trial of an Arizona prisoner who is accused of escaping in 2010 and killing an Oklahoma couple as they traveled through New Mexico.

The trial of John McCluskey will resume today with testimony from Tracy Province.

Defense attorneys plan to challenge Province's credibility.

Prosecutors say McCluskey and Province escaped from a medium-security prison near Kingman, Ariz., with the help of McCluskey's cousin and fiance, Casslyn Welch.

The trio sparked a nationwide manhunt. They were accused of targeting Gary and Linda Haas of Tecumseh, Okla., for their truck and travel trailer. The couple was shot and their bodies burned along with their trailer.

Province and Welch have both pleaded guilty in the case.
