Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested In Lafayette

A man wanted for aggravated battery and armed robbery was arrested this week in the 500 block of Joan Street.

City Marshall Nicky Picard's office says there was a warrant out for Ronald Wayne Joseph Jr. after a man was shot and robbed in his yard back on May 6.

One suspect, Joseph, is alleged to have approached Paul Alex in his yard and told the man to, "give it up".  Alex gave the man his wallet, and when he turned to walk into his house, he says Joseph shot him in his shoulder.

Joseph then fled with another man in a truck.

A Lafayette city marshal deputy saw Joseph this week on Joan Street, and Joseph was promptly arrested.
