Arnaudville Man Accused Of Molesting 6-Year-Old Child

80-year-old Jean Trahan of Arnaudville has been arrested after allegedly admitting to inappropriate contact with a 6-year-old child.

Captain Megan Vizena with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office says the child confided in her parents what Jean Trahan allegedly did to her. "During questioning, Trahan allegedly admitted to his involvement in the incident and was placed under arrest," Capt. Vizena says.

Captain Vizena says Trahan and the girl are not related. "Further details about the incident are being withheld to protect the identity of the victim,” Vizena added.

Trahan has been booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on one count of molestation of a juvenile.
