18-year-old Anthony Chevis of Arnaudville is facing trouble after allegedly stealing horses.

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office arrested Chevis after they received a call about some juveniles stealing horses from a residence in Sunset. The owner of the home noticed that several other items that are associated with horses were taken as well.  The amount of the missing items totaled over $5,000.

After further investigation, detectives were able to locate the missing items at the home of Chevis.  While they were there, Chevis also admitted to officers that he brought the juveniles with him to the residence where the items were taken from.

A police spokesperson is saying that the juveniles were also charged with the crimes, but were released to the custody of their guardians.

Meanwhile, Chevis is being held in the St. Landry Parish Jail on $7,000 bond.  He faces charges of principle theft, principle theft of livestock and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles.
