Arrest Made After Lafayette Man Allegedly Beats Up Victim Sleeping At Ex-Girlfriend’s House

47-year-old Henry Demette of Lafayette has turned himself in to the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office after allegedly breaking into his ex-girlfriend's house and beating the man sleeping next to her with a pipe.

According to our news partners at KATC, Demette broke in through the rear door of the woman's home in the 5500 block of West Congress Street, found her and the victim sleeping, then beat the victim so hard with the pipe that he needed 10 stitches.

Demette has been charged with aggravated assault.
