Arrest Made In Armed Robbery

On December 9, 2010, at approximately 3:30 am, Lafayette Police responded to an apartment complex, located at 90 North Luke Street, regarding an armed robbery. According to the victim, three suspects forcefully entered his apartment and robbed him at gunpoint.  The suspect removed several pieces of property from within the residence.  The victim was injured when one of the suspects struck him in the facial area with a gun.  The suspects then fled the apartment complex. The victim, an 18 year old male of Lafayette, was transported to an area hospital and treated for his injuries. Investigators were able to locate the suspects at a nearby apartment complex.  As a result of the ongoing investigation, 3 suspects were arrested for Armed Robbery and 3 suspects were arrested with Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery.  Ronald Williams (19) of Baton Rouge, Jeremy Paul (21) of Baton Rouge and James Smith (18) of Lafayette were charged with Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery.  Scott Norman (22) of Lafayette, Kevin Sheppard (19) of Prairieville and Jeffery Sheppard (21) of Prairieville were charged with Armed Robbery.  The case remains under investigation.
