Arrest Made In Fatal Duval St. Shooting

Lafayette police have made an arrest for a fatal shooting that occurred on May 23.

Police Cpl. Karl Ratcliff said 25-year-old Emmanuel Hebert was arrested on a charge of second-degree murder for killing 21-year-old Damarcus Bernard.

On May 23, 2017 at approximately 10:30 pm, Lafayette Police responded to the 200 block of Duval St in reference to a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located Bernard deceased in the roadway from an apparent gunshot wound.
