Arrest Made In Lafayette Murder Case

34 year old Jason Marlin of Columbia, Mississippi is charged with 2014 murder here in Lafayette. According to Capt. John Babin of the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office investigators followed a number of leads in the murder of Valerie West on June 30, 2014 that led to the arrest of Marlin in Mississippi. Marlin was booked into the Marion County, Mississippi jail where he waived extradition and was transported to Lafayette today. Marlin is being held on $250,000 bond.

The murder of Valerie West occurred in the 100 block of Madame Germaine Street in Lafayette Parish.
