Louisiana State Police has made an arrest relating to a cold case from 2002.

According to Trooper Brooks David, state police was contacted two years ago by the St. Martin Parish District Attorney's Office and asked for assistance with the case.

The investigation led detectives to 36-year-old Marshall Alexander, Jr. of Breaux Bridge, who they determined shot and killed Scott Latiolais in a field in St. Martin Parish on March 28, 2002.

Alexander was indicted June 27 by a grand jury on a charge of second degree murder. He was booked into the St. Martin Parish Jail Monday.
