Iberia Parish Sheriff's Deputies were called out to a home on Norris Road last night after the occupants say they were robbed by two men who were armed.

One suspect in the case is now in custody, but two other people are being sought in connection with the case.

The four adult victims say two men, one armed with a gun, the other with a bat, came into their home, and they demanded money.

One victims was hit by both suspects, and the victims turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the men who then fled in a vehicle.

A responsding deputy recognize the alleged criminal's car based on the victim's descriptions, and he tried to stop the vehicle.

The driver refused to stop the car and a pursuit began, but it ended when the suspect hit a building on Yvonne Street. Three people ran away from the car.

One suspect, 22-year-old Silas Joseph, was arrested on Mississippi Street.

Jospeh has been charged with:

  • Armed robbery
  • Criminal damage to property
  • Aggravated flight from an officer

Detectives say additional arrests are expected in the case.
