The following is a list of the people arrested in the last 72 hours by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office

Derrick Dobbins, 35, 118 Lincoln Drive, Patterson, LA was arrested on June 12, 2015 at 6:55 am for simple burglary. A deputy investigating a complaint of a vehicle burglary that occurred in the Patterson area developed Dobbins as a suspect in the crime. While speaking to the deputy, Dobbins admitted that he had taken cash from a purse in the victim’s vehicle. Dobbins and the victim were acquainted with each other. The deputy transported Dobbins to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Jerry Landry, 82, 1612 Ridgeway Drive, Morgan City, LA was arrested on June 12, 2015 at 10:00 am on a warrant for unauthorized use of a moveable. Landry turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office in Franklin. The warrant stems from an investigation into a complaint of an incident that took place at a business on Highway 90 in the Patterson area. The complainant stated that Landry moved a vehicle parked in the parking lot without the owner’s permission. Landry was transported to the parish jail for booking. Landry was released on a $250 bond.

 

Kaneesha A. Williams, 25, 2408 Commercial Drive Apt. N2, Port Allen, LA was arrested on June 12, 2015 at 1:56 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of theft of goods. A deputy came into contact with Williams at a business in Bayou Vista and learned of the active warrant for her arrest. The deputy transported Williams to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $5,000.

 

Dedrick Gant, Jr., 30, 1400 Live Oak Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on June 12, 2015 at 2:15 pm on the following charges:

-     Resisting an officer (giving false information)

-     Domestic abuse battery (strangulation)

-     Domestic abuse battery (in the presence of a juvenile)

-     Warrant from Patterson Police for domestic abuse batter

A deputy was dispatched to a disturbance in progress at a business on Highway 90 in Bayou Vista. The deputy made contact with a male subject who identified himself using a false name. The deputy determined that the subject was Gant. Also during the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Gant grabbed a female victim around the neck while she was holding a child. The deputy transported Gant to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Nicholas Grimmett, 34, 138 Sun Street, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on June 12, 2015 at 2:25 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of criminal damage to property (over $500), criminal damage to property (under $500), and disturbing the peace (intoxicated). A deputy transported Grimmett from Assumption Parish to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant. Grimmett was later released on a $2,500 bond.

 

Nicholas Turner, 22, 223 Rue St. Honore Street, Gretna, LA was arrested on June 12, 2015 at 3:55 pm on a warrant for criminal damage to property and 2 counts of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of speeding. Turner turned himself in at the St. Mary Sheriff’s Office in Franklin. A deputy transported Turner to the parish jail for booking. The warrant is the result of a complaint of a residential burglary that occurred on Kemper Road in January of 2014. The complainant stated that Turner kicked in the door and entered the residence on two separate occasions. Turner and the victim knew each other. During one of the incidents, Turner took a gaming system from the home. Turner was released after posting a $5,000 bond.

 

Billy Matte, Jr., 32, 100 Cypress Drive, Berwick, LA was arrested on June 12, 2015 at 6:32 pm for reckless operation of a vehicle and no motor vehicle insurance. Deputies responded to a complaint of a gun being pointed at a subject in a parking lot on Highway 90 in Bayou Vista. During the course of the investigation, deputies learned that Matte was operating his vehicle recklessly on Highway 90. Deputies also discovered that Matte was driving without insurance. Matte was released on a summons to appear in court on September 16, 2015.

 

Juvenile male, 15, Franklin, LA was arrested on June 12, 2015 at 8:03 pm for domestic abuse battery. A deputy responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in Centerville. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that the juvenile male slapped a female victim in the face during an argument. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

 

David Miller, 33, 223 Jones Street Apt. 4, Berwick, LA was arrested on June 12, 2015 at 11:12 pm for simple battery and criminal damage to property. A deputy responded to a report of a disturbance that occurred at a residence in Bayou Vista. The deputy determined that Miller grabbed a female victim and pushed her. Miller also punched a hole in some drywall inside the residence while yelling at the victim. The deputy transported Miller to the parish jail for booking. Miller was later released on a summons to appear in court on September 16, 2015.

 

Elizabeth Jones, 52, and Brandon Jones, 43, both of 214 Mars Road Apt. 2, Bayou Vista, LA were arrested on June 13, 2015 at 2:32 am for disturbing the peace (intoxicated). A deputy was dispatched to a complaint of a disturbance at the residence listed above. The deputy made contact with both subjects and learned that the two were arguing loudly causing a disturbance in the area. The deputy observed that both subjects displayed multiple signs of intoxication. The deputy transported the two subjects to the parish jail for booking. Both were later released on summonses to appear in court on September 16, 2015.

 

Peggy Fabre, 48, 306 Adams Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on June 13, 2015 at 7:36 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of issuing worthless checks. A deputy located Fabre at her residence on the warrant and transported her to the parish jail for booking. Fabre was released on a $750 bond.

 

Heather N. Harvey, 203 Trevino Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on June 13, 2015 at 9:20 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of speeding and failure to honor written promise to appear. A deputy conducting a traffic stop on Highway 90 in the Baldwin area made contact with Harvey and learned of the active warrant for her arrest. The deputy transported Harvey to the parish jail for booking. Harvey was released on a $1,000 bond. Harvey was released on a $1,000 bond.

 

Sydnie Harrison, 19, 192 Shady Grove, Patterson, LA was arrested on June 13, 2015 at 3:56 pm on a warrant for simple battery.

 

Juvenile female, 15, Patterson, LA was arrested on June 13, 2015 at 4:15 pm on a warrant for simple battery.

 

Deputies located Harrison and the juvenile at their residences on the warrants. Harrison was transported to the parish jail for booking. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings. Harrison was released after posting a $500 bond. The warrants are the result of an investigation into a complaint of a battery that occurred on June 10, 2015 on Fairview Street in Bayou Vista. The deputy learned that Harrison and the juvenile female punched a female victim. Other subjects were also involved in the battery and this investigation is ongoing.

 

Michael Copeland, 44, 319 Clarke Road Lot 1, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on June 13, 2015 at 10:40 pm for domestic abuse battery and criminal damage to property. A deputy responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence in Bayou Vista and learned that Copeland pushed a female victim and broke a clock. The deputy transported Copeland to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.

 

Sheila Kimbro, 41, 319 Clarke Road Lot 1, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on June 13, 2015 at 10:49 pm for disturbing the peace (obscene language). A deputy investigating a complaint of a disturbance at a residence in Bayou Vista learned that Kimbro was yelling profanities causing a disturbance in the area. The deputy released Kimbro on a summons to appear in court on September 16, 2015.

 

Billy Smith, Sr., 53, 329 Clarke Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on June 14, 2015 at 8:34 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of direct contempt, failure to stop at a stop sign, and failure to honor written promise to appear. A deputy located Smith at his residence on the warrant and transported him to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $319.50.
