An out-of-town-woman arrested in an accident says her pets traveling with her were placed in a shockingly bad animal shelter. Rosemarie Harmen's cat and two dogs were placed in the Crowley Animal Shelter while she was arrested and her car was impounded. The Kenner woman says when she went to get them a few days later she found them in overcrowded cages, with no AC or fans and covered in urine and feces. She says a shelter worker then told her to pay a fee much less than she was originally told, then pocketed the money without offering a receipt. The city says they'll look into her claims.
