34-year-old Forrest Charles and 36-year-old Darrell Dugas – both of Rayne – have been charged in a shooting that happened on Mardi Gras Night on Bailey Avenue.

Charles has been charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder and Certain Felon in Possession of a firearm. He was out on bond for another recent incident involving a firearm, which is still pending in court. He currently has been booked into the Acadia Parish Jail with a $550,000 bond.

Dugas has been charged with Certain Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Because of his injuries sustained in the shooting incident, though, he has not yet been booked into the Acadia Parish Jail.

Rayne Police Chief Carroll Stelly says both suspects are well-known in the area.
