Lafayette Fire Department investigators say the home on the 3400 block of Golden Grain Road that went ablaze early morning on August 1 was set intentionally.

Fire officials say when the fire happened the owner Carol Tomlinson and her two children were out of state. It took firefighters over an hour to get it under control, suffering heavy fire damage.

One volunteer firefighter ended up suffering minor injuries but was eventually released from the hospital.
