Allegations have been made that a former Donaldsonville High School secretary took money from the school according the Ascension Parish School Board.  They are looking into the claims.

There was an executive session for board members this week after their regular meeting on Tuesday so that they could gather to discuss what is happening with the investigation.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office's records show that a former employee, Tremechia Shendrale Butler, was arrested by the Sheriff's Office on June 15th.  The records show that the Plaquemine woman was charged with felony theft.

The superintendent of Ascension Parish Schools, Patrice Pujol, says that Butler worked for the Donaldsonville High School for about four months last year.  She reports that Butler had already left the system before officials with the school system discovered that money was missing.  The discovery of alleged theft came about during an audit of the system's finances.
