Nosy neighbors may seem to be a headache, but in one case in Iberia Parish, it worked out for the owner of the home.  Iberia Parish Sheriff Louis Ackal says just before 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon his department was called out to the 1300 block of Marshfiled Road after someone called in to report an attempted burglary.

Deputies say a witness reported a suspicious car at his neighbor's home.  He told deputies when he saw the driver trying to leave, he blocked the path of the suspect's vehicle.

That's when the neighbor says the suspects took off from the car on foot.

Police arrested two people in that case, and a third suspect through further investigation.  Deputies say the two suspects in the car had stolen items on them.

The Sheriff's office arrested 24-year-old Erika Chapman for simple battery and simple burglary along with 24-year-old Jerry Rogers for simple burglary.

They say they were able to link the two to another burglary in the Parc Perdue Subdivision, and they are investigating whether or not Chapman and Rogers might be responsible for other burglaries in Iberia Parish.

Detectives also arrested 36-year-old John Richard for intent to distribute schedule I narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.  He is believed to be associated with the other two suspects.
