Kendol Payne of Opelousas, the man accused in an Opelousas shooting on September 1, has been arrested by Opelousas Police, along with federal and city marshals.

According to our news partners at KATC, Payne has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder for his role in the shooting which happened near the corner of Blanchard and Academy Streets.

Opelousas Police say, according to KATC, Payne shot Demon Thibodeaux, the intended target, in the chest, while a woman, Lakesha Randle, was hit by a stray bullet in the left collarbone. Payne was arrested Monday morning on Pavy Road.
