Attempted Murder Suspect Arrested

A man is accused of attacking a woman on her back porch this morning, and violating his restraining order against her relative. Lafayette Police say Berren Breaux went to the woman's house in the 100 block of Strasbourg Drive and hit her multiple times with a stick. After doing so, the masked Breaux then ran away. The victim was able to pull herself into the house and call for help. Breaux is alleged to have been in an ongoing dispute with her relative at the home, who had an active restraining order against him at the time of the attack. The victim is in critical condition; Breaux is behind bars. The case remains under investigation.
