ATV Crash Claims Life Of Port Barre Man

28 year old Lance Lomas of Port Barre is dead after an ATV crash Saturday night. Troopers say Lomas was traveling West on the shoulder of US 190 when he veered off to the right and was thrown from the ATV. Lomas died later at a local hospital. He was not wearing a helmet and troopers say alcohol is thought to be a contributing factor in the crash. The investigation is on-going with toxicology samples sent to the State Police Crime Lab.
