A report form the Louisiana Legislative Auditor's office states the city has "significant problems" with its water distribution system.

Within a financial audit for the fiscal year ending April 30, 2015, an independent CPA listed issues such as leaking fire hydrants as needing repairs.

Unfortunately, for residents, this could mean higher utility rates throughout the city to be used to fund the necessary repairs and improvements.

The report also states the city's expenditures out of its Liquid and Solid Waste Fund was approximately five percent over budget. The budget for this particular fund was not amended..

The audit earned the city a "C" rating from the legislative auditor's office.
