The Lafayette Consolidated Government has released its barricade placement schedule so businesses, residents and travelers in the City of Lafayette can be best informed and plan accordingly.

City of Lafayette Public Works Schedule:

Thursday, January 28 – 8 a.m. – Public Works crews will place barricades at the beginning of the parade route (Downtown area). They begin at Jefferson/Simcoe St. intersection and place along the route to the intersection of Johnston/Vermillion St.

Friday, January 29 – 8 a.m. – Public Works crews will resume placing barricades from the Johnston/Vermillion St. intersection along Johnston St. to N. College (Albertson shopping center), then along N. College to the Cajun Field entrance at Gate 2 (approximately 650’ past Reinhardt Dr. towards Congress St.). Barricades will be placed to allow for “turn lanes” and major cross-overs along Johnston St. and N. College.

Saturday, January 30 – 6:30 p.m. – Public Works crews will move the barricades to the sides of the road and clean up litter and debris along the entire parade route.

Thursday, February 4 – 8 a.m. – Public Works crews will place barricades from the sides of the road back along the “Downtown” parade route up to Johnston St.

Friday, February 5 – 8 a.m. – Public Works crews will place barricades from the sides of the road back along the “Johnston St. /N. College” parade route to Cajun Field at Gate 2 entrance.

Tuesday, February 9 – MARDI GRAS DAY – 2 p.m. – Public Works crews will move barricades along the route to the sides of the roads.

Tuesday, February 9 – 11 p.m. until – Public Works crews will clean up litter and debris along the parade route and adjacent areas.

Wednesday, February 10 – There will be no work for Public Works crews.

Thursday, February 11 and Friday, February 12 – 7 a.m. – Public Works crews will pick up barricades from the Mardi Gras route and return to the Public Works yard on Dorset Avenue.
