BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Police have arrested a Baton Rouge mother in the death of her infant daughter. Police say the woman failing to keep the premature baby connected to a breathing monitor.

29-year-old Kewanda B. Duncan was booked Monday on one count of manslaughter in the death of A'Mircle Parker, a 12-week-old baby born premature this summer at Baton Rouge General Medical Center.

Police say both Duncan and the baby tested positive for cocaine and marijuana at the time of the infant's birth.

Duncan is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond.

It was unclear whether Duncan has an attorney.
