BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff's deputies have released the name of a man killed in a weekend shooting.

Deputies tell The Advocate 25-year-old Toliver Terrell Lyons was shot and killed at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

Family members say Lyons was shot near an apartment complex.

A cousin, who arrived at the complex about five minutes after the shooting occurred, says deputies told her that someone had approached Lyons and asked him where he could purchase marijuana.

She says Lyons said he didn't know, and without warning, the man started shooting.

Deputies are still search for a suspect in the slaying.
