BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Producers have settled on Baton Rouge as the shooting location for a Sundance Channel TV show that, at first, will shoot six episodes and a pilot.

WBRZ-TV reports (http://bit.ly/190NTMq ) the city announced plans for "Hap & Leonard" in a news release last week. The show is adapted from author Joe Lansdale's Southern noir books about an unlikely pair of best friends and martial arts experts who try to stay on the right side of the law in 1980s East Texas.

The show will appear on television in 2016, according to report by the Hollywood Reporter.

On Wednesday, producers will ask the Metro Council if they can use office space at the old Woman's Hospital as a temporary production office for the series.
