Scott Rogers, a TV personality in Baton Rouge who hosted 'Around Town' on WAFB, was shot and killed. According to Iberville Parish Sheriff Brett Stassi, Rogers was the victim in an apparent murder/attempted suicide in St. Gabriel La.

According to WAFB.com, deputies responded to a call on Daisy Avenue at 12:40 p.m. yesterday (08/27/14) and discovered the body of Scott Rogers. The alleged shooter was in critical condition and transported to an area hospital.

The alleged shooter has been identified as Mathew Hodgkinson, Rogers son-in-law and producer of his 'Around Town' show.

According to Rodgers' attorney, Seth Dornier, Rogers was struggling with issues related to lying regarding his name on immigration, adoption and foster-parent paperwork. He was also worried about prior child molestation accusations from England (for which he was exonerated) resurfacing in America and potentially destroying his career.

Still no word on the motive behind the shooting, as the alleged shooter remains in critical condition.
