Crowley police have arrested a 32-year-old Baton Rouge woman for what police say was a scam aiming to get money for the thieves.  Police are also looking for another woman in reference to the case.

Crowley police arrested Lykendra Givens on two counts of felony theft by fraud, and they have issued an arrest warrant for Ebony Givens of Baton Rouge.

Police Chief K.P. Gibson says the women used a payroll card to steal money from retailers at least three different times this month.  Gibson says a payroll card is like a debit card and it lets a worker get their pay.  These women are alleged to have used the payroll card to steal money from at least three businesses in the Crowley area.

Gibson did not give any other information about the alleged scam.  He also did not share details about whether or not other cities in Acadiana were targeted.
