BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Police have arrested four East Baton Rouge Parish Department of Public Works employees accused of stealing gasoline from city-parish fueling stations while refueling government vehicles.

In a news release received by The Advocate from Mayor-President Kip Holden's office, Ensley Joseph, Rodney Maxwell, Joyce Gatlin and Lawrence Smith will be terminated.

The release says Joseph first came under scrutiny several months ago when he was observed filling up a five-gallon gas can several times as he fueled his work truck.

It was unclear whether the four workers have attorneys.
