Bayou Vermilion Festival & Boat Parade Set For October 19, 2014
The Bayou Vermilion Festival & Boat Parade is a celebration of, and on, the Bayou Vermilion that aims to increase awareness of the river as a viable source of recreation for Lafayette Parish and also serves as a fundraiser for the Bayou Vermilion District's efforts along the Vermilion. The festivities will begin at 10 a.m. with a showcase of antique boats, various boating demonstrations, and hands-on activities for the kiddos. At 2 p.m. you can join the parade by registering your own boat, canoe or kayak or you can reserve one by visiting bayouvermiliondistrict.org. The fun doesn't end there! After the parade there will be a celebration from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. with live music, food and drinks.
