Bayou Vista Man Arrested For Battery, Possession And More

Shawntey Cox, 32, was arrested on Friday after a complaint was made to the police about a domestic disturbance.

A deputy arrived and the complainants stated that Cox arrived home and an argument started when he committed battery. The first complainant was battered and the second was battered after she attempted to call the police.

After the batteries occurred, Cox then took their purses and ran. Police then began searching for Cox and found him down the road.

He was arrested shortly thereafter and booked with domestic abuse battery, theft, simple battery, possession of marijuana and a warrant for possession of cocaine without bond currently at the parish jail.
