The Saints already lost Ben Watson to free agency, and now the Bears are trying to lure Josh Hill away from New Orleans.

According to The Advocate's Nick Underhill, Chicago offered the Saints' tight end a three year offer, and the Saints have five days to match it. The details of the Bears' offer haven't reached the light of day yet, but it's going to be hard for New Orleans to compete with anything serious.

The Baltimore Ravens gave Ben Watson more money than the Saints could come up with, and they had to watch him leave. They were still able to keep Michael Hoomanawanui, and they spent a chunk of change on Coby Fleener. Most fans probably imagined starting the season with Hill as the third tight end, but the Saints are going to have to pull some pocket change out of the couch to make it happen.

New Orleans only has $1.2 million left in cap space, so they might just have to let Hill walk. The silver lining is, if he goes to Chicago the Saints get his $1.6 million tender back.

This is what happens when you run the credit card up. When you're close to the card's limit, sometimes you have to go without.
