Beauregard Parish Junior High Band Director Arrested

Investigators from the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations arrested 65-year-old Robert McNamee of DeRidder yesterday.
Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations, U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, and the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office teamed up to execute a search warrant at the junior high band director’s home.
The warrant came out of an investigation of McNamee as part of an Operation Child Watch by State Police dealing with child pornography on McNamee’s computer.
State Police say that they searched McNamee’s computer and found images of sexually abused children. The charge against McNamee is distribution of child pornography. He was booked into the Beauregard Parish Jail.
If McNamee were to be convicted on the charge he faces up to a 10,000 dollar fine. He could also serve up to ten years in prison.
At the time of his arrest yesterday, McNamee was employed by the Beauregard Parish School Board. He served as a junior high school band director.
State Police say this investigation is still ongoing.
