Today Walt Bennetti, political blogger from ClickJefferson.com joined 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' and discussed the Common Core Standard as well as the eminent federal government shutdown.

According to Bennetti,

At Tulane University right now they are teaching teacher candidates about Common Core already.  The teacher candidates are already writing sample lesson plans implementing Common Core as part of their curriculum at Tulane University and at colleges and universities across the country.

In regards to Obamacare and the pending government shutdown Bennetti said,

We have two important events happening tonight at midnight.  The government may shutdown and we're going have the opening of the Obamacare exchanges regardless.  People can't actually purchase insurance, they're not going to be qualified until the first of the year.  they can start lining up and getting in the cue for that.

Bennetti noted,

The Senate left for the weekend so obviously Harry Reid is not in too much of a hurry because they're not going to reconvene until 2:00 this afternoon to possibly even vote on it and they may not vote on it because they don't like what the House did.
