Everybody's got their favorite colleges, universities, and places of higher education, but not all of these are located in spots that you would want to visit, even if it wasn't a football weekend!

The folks at Southern Living have put together an awesome list of great little college towns, and even though there are none listed in our beloved Louisiana, make plans to visit some of these charming and unique hot spots if you can. According to Southern Living, they defined 'small town' as a city of 350,000 people or less, with the college making up a large part of the character of the area. And FYI - I'm putting in my own nomination for Lafayette, Louisiana, home to the University of Louisiana, Lafayette!
