There are many beautiful little towns and communities in our state, and so it is hard to pick a 'Best', but the following have been deemed exceptional, for their unique and picturesque Main Streets. Enjoy, and tell us what YOUR favorite is!
Natchitoches - Home of the annual Christmas Festival of Lights, and a winner of the Great American Main Street Award.
New Roads - Great fishing on the river, and outstanding antique stores downtown, and on Main St.
Opelousas - Louisiana's oldest city, and home of great Zydeco music!
Minden - Old time charm in a town that hasn't changed much over the last couple of decades
Morgan City - Close to New Orleans, but still has that small town feel
Abbeville - Many historic buildings downtown, and some are even on the National Historic Register
Eunice - Prairie Cajun Capital of the World, and home of the World Championship Crawfish Etouffee Cookoff
Springhill - Classic and historic downtown that remains true to it's Louisiana roots
St Martinville - Home of the world famous Evangeline Oak
Columbia - Louisiana Art and Folk festival is a huge draw for this tiny picturesque town
Thibodaux - A vibrant art and food scene, and close to New Orleans
Denham Springs - Beautiful antique and art galleries make up the historic Main Street area
Donaldsonville - Small town charm, and the former Capital city of Louisiana
