The Sonic Christmas parade will take this Sunday in downtown Lafayette.

This year's parade will feature elves, Shriner's collecting letters for Santa Claus, bands, floats and then a visit by Santa Claus himself.

The Lafayette Police Department hopes that families have fun, but they do ask that drivers not park their cars on Jefferson Street.

Any unoccupied cars on Jefferson Street will be towed on Sunday so that the parade has plenty of room to roll.

Sonic Christmas Parade Route

Police will close the streets in the downtown area at 10:00 o'clock this Sunday morning, and then the rest of the roads leading to the end of the parade will close starting at 12:30 p.m.

The Sonic Christmas Parade will start at 1 o'clock this Sunday afternoon.

I will see you at the parade! I will set up on Jefferson Street just before you get to Lee Avenue in the old police complex. Come and see us! Bring your money for a picture with Santa! All proceeds that you care to donate for the picture will be given to the Family Violence Intervention Program.
