I recently told you about Anheuser Busch's reaction to a small brewing company using the trademarked phrase "Dilly Dilly" in the name of a beer. They sent a good-natured cease and desist, on a parchment scroll, via town crier, along with the gift of Super Bowl tickets. When Brooklyn based Lineup Brewing named a beer for Beyonce, her response was less than enthusiastic. She hit them with a case and desist, demanding the company cease production of Biereyonce'. The owner, Katarina Martinez, told pitchfork.com the name was meant as a tribute. She said, “As a Hispanic, female run business, I am very inspired by her so I thought I’d pay homage. We’re disappointed she didn’t take it as a compliment, but oh well. It was fun while it lasted!” If you fly to New York today, you may be able to get some of the first and only batch! Merry Christmas, Bey (sneer)...
