BEIJING (AP) —There's little indication that progress has been made in talks between Vice President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping (shee jihn-peeng).

In a 5 ½-hour meeting in Beijing Wednesday, Biden confronted Xi about China's new declaration of an air defense zone over islands in the East China Sea that also are claimed by Japan.

Today, Biden told American business leaders in China that he was "very direct" with Xi about Washington's expectations.
