Baton Rouge Representative Franklin Foil announces he will file a bill for a constitutional amendment that would give colleges their own authority to raise their fees without having to go to the Louisiana Legislature for their approval.

Foil's amendment, if it passes the Legislature, and the people's vote, would get rid of the current requirement under law that both chambers of the Louisiana have to have a two-thirds vote of the members to increase fees at colleges and universities.

Foil has this to say,

" I look forward to bringing this constitutional amendment this upcoming Session, and I hope for favorable passage in order to give our colleges more stability and control over their budgets.”
