Louisiana Ragin' Cajun shortstop Blake Trahan was honored as a Louisville Slugger of the Week yesterday., one day after earning the "Most Outstanding Player" award from the Sun Belt Conference tournament.

Trahan was vital in helping the #1 ranked Cajuns procure their first tourney championship in 16 years, hitting a go-ahead homerun in the 7th inning. He finished Sunday's game 1 for 2 in the with a home run, a walk, and two RBI.

For the entire tournament, Trahan put up gaudy numbers, going 7 for 11 with a clutch home run, a double, 2 triples and 5 RBI. He was one of 6 players recognized nationally as a Louisville Slugger national player of the week.

Trahan is the second Cajun to earn a Louisville Slugger distinction this season. Greg Davis received the honor two weeks ago.
