Blanco To Make First Post-Cancer Appearance

Former Gov. Kathleen Blanco will make her first public appearance this weekend since being diagnosed with and treated for a rare eye cancer. Blanco is scheduled to receive a lifetime achievement award from the Louisiana Democratic Party at its annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner on Saturday.   Last month that she was diagnosed with a type of cancer that affects about six in one million people. She said her prognosis was good for recovery.
