On Monday, April 18th and Tuesday, April 19th, United Blood Services bloodmobiles will be parked in front of Dupre Library collecting lifesaving blood donations from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on both days, All donors will receive a Chick-Fil-A coupon for a FREE Sandwich or FREE nuggets, a FREE bowling pass to Acadiana Lanes, and a 100 emoji Blood Donor T-Shirt (all items are while supplies last)! Donor center hours of operation are: Monday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

As always, all blood types are needed in order to prevent any blood type shortages from occurring. However, United Blood Services is experiencing an increased need for all negative blood types, especially type O negative. Type O negative blood is the only type that can safely be given to patients of all blood types.

Volunteer blood donors must be at least 16 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. Additional height/weight requirements apply to donors 22 and younger, and donors who are 16 years of age must have signed permission from a parent or guardian. Donors receive a free cholesterol test. Donors also earn points in our "Hero in Me" online rewards store. Points can be redeemed for movie tickets, pizza, shopping cards and more at www.BloodHero.com. A photo ID is required to donate.
