For quite some time it's secretly become the "go to" event for downtown Lafayette on a Monday night. It's called Blue Monday Jam Sessions and the second Monday of every month musicians and music lovers gather together at Jefferson Street Pub for an old-fashioned jam session with some very good intentions.

Tonight's Blue Monday Jam Session will feature something extra special this evening. In addition to performances by some of the best-known names on the local music scene, tonight's Blue Monday Jam will feature a tribute to Aretha Franklin. Those scheduled to perform tributes to the late Queen of Soul include Connie G, Julie Williams, Nebu Nezey, Sarah Russo, Sara Roy, Sharon Thomas, and Shauna Sias.

And if that wasn't enough tonight's Blue Monday Jam Session will also feature an appearance by Roddie Romero.  Romero, the leader of the Hub City Allstars are planning a tour in Germany for later in the year. Tony Goulas is also scheduled to make an appearance a tonight's performance.

The Blue Monday Jam is a fundraising effort of the Blue Monday Mission. Their mission is to provide support and quality of life services for aging members of Acadiana's music and creative community. Your $20 cover charge will get you in for tonight's show and meal. If you choose not to eat or donate a meal then your cost to get in is only $10.
