Middle Tennessee spotted Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns a 5-2 lead, then scored ten unanswered runs in their final four at bats to race past the Cajuns 12-5, ending the Cajuns' six game winning streak.

Louisiana (17-4, 3-1 Sun Belt), scored in four of the first five innings off Middle Tennessee starter Hunter Adkins (4-2).  But only in the first inning were the Cajuns able to get more than one run.  Louisiana took the lead early on a run scoring double by Caleb Adams, who went to third on a ground ball and was credited with a steal of home when the Cajuns missed on a suicide squeeze bunt, Adams scoring when the ball rolled up the third base line off the glove of catcher Dain McNabb.

MTSU (13-10, 1-3) got a run back on Johnny Thomas' second homer of the year in the bottom of the inning, but the Cajuns got that run right back on Michael Strentz' second homer of the season.  The Cajuns increased the lead to 4-1 when Adams scored on a double play ball.  McNabb homered leading off the third to make the score 4-2, but the Cajuns scored again in the fifth on Tyler Girouard's RBI single.

Cajuns starter Ryan Wilson was pulled after the fourth inning and that's when things started to unravel for the Cajuns.  Middle Tennessee tied the game off reliever Chase Traffica in the bottom of the fifth on a run scoring single by Ryan Ford a single by Ryan Stephens, a passed ball and a balk.  The Raiders put the game away in the fifth off relievers Cord Cockrell (3-1) and Kody Smith, scoring five runs to give MTSU a 10-5 lead.

Adkins went the first seven innings for the Raiders, giving up five runs (four earned), while walking three and striking out nine.  Aaron Hyder pitched the final two innings, allowing just two hits.

The two teams will play game two of the series Saturday afternoon at 4pm at Reese Smith, Jr. Field in Murfreesboro.  Austin Robichaux will get the start for the Cajuns.  Lefty Johnathan Frebis, last year's SBC Freshman of the Year, will start for the Raiders.
