GRAND ISLE, La. (AP) — The body of a 16-year-old boy was recovered in Grand Isle after he went missing Sunday afternoon while swimming in the Gulf of Mexico.

Grand Isle Police Chief Euris Dubois says the body was recovered about 2:30 p.m., about 15 minutes after he was reported missing to the U.S. Coast Guard.

His identity wasn't immediately released.

The Coast Guard says the boy was last seen swimming from a rock jetty at Grand Isle State Park.

The Coast Guard, Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and Grand Isle Fire Department had been trying to locate the boy.
