Body Of Young Male Discovered In Melville

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a young male in Melville whose body was found Friday night.

According to our news partner, KATC, the body of a young male was found around 11 p.m. Friday in a wooded area near First Street.

Capt. Clay Higgins, with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office, told KATC, the Melville Police Department requested the sheriff's office take over in order to determine a cause of death.

Neither the exact age, nor the identity of the male has been released.
